BETA International rewards innovation
The BETA International 2010 Innovation Awards, sponsored by Equestrian Trade News (ETN).
The BETA International Innovation Awards recognise the development of new products that will excite consumers and the trade alike.
Sponsored by the leading trade journal ETN, entry is open to all exhibiting companies. Entered products are denoted by special cards on exhibitors’ stands.
Judging by a panel of eminent equestrian experts will take place throughout Sunday, 21 February. The winners earn the right to use exclusive BETA International Innovation Award logos as well as receiving wide acclaim across the media.
To enter, products must be new onto the market within the last 12 months. There are six categories: saddlery and tack, rider clothing, feed and supplements, horsecare products and equipment, safety and security and ‘other’. Each category will have an overall winner, with highly commended awards allocated at the judges’ discretion.
In each product sector, the judges will be looking for genuinely innovative products that work for consumers while also being potentially profitable for the trade.
The judges of the BETA International 2010 Innovation Awards are:
- Tina Cook – current European eventing champion, multi-medal winning British team member and Horse&Hound columnist.
- Norman Bargh – chairman of Trailblazers which runs show jumping, dressage and showing competitions at 60-plus show centres across the UK.
- Steph Croxford – international dressage rider who with her grand prix horse Mr President has become the sport’s ‘everywoman’.
- Catherine Dunnett – independent equine nutritionist with many years’ experience in scientific research.
- Prof Derek Knottenbelt – leading equine vet and widely published academic with special interests in equine welfare.
- Jane Holderness Roddam – Olympic gold medallist, BETA president and president of Riding for the Disabled (RDA), BETA International’s chosen charity for 2010.
Entries for the BETA International Innovation Awards can be made via the online manual. Some products in line for Innovation Awards may also appear in the Classic Showjumps New Product Gallery, although an appearance here does not imply entry into the awards.
