Ellen Lincoln BSc. MSc
Ellen came from a surprisingly non-horsey background, but as the friend of a farmer’s daughter, soon found her way to the local Pony Club centre and has never looked back.
Ellen’s studies were focused in the equine field. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Equitation and Coaching - graduating as ‘’Student of the Year’’ for her results in nutrition. Ellen continued her educational journey, alongside working on Simple System’s Feed Line, graduating as Master of Science in Equine Science from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at The University of Edinburgh in 2024. Ellen’s enquiring mind and desire to provide horses with the most appropriate nutrition has implored her to continue to further her studies in 2025 and beyond.
When it comes to practical equine industry experience, Ellen has worked at dressage, eventing and racing yards. She also spent several years at Newmarket Equine Hospital looking after more clinical cases, standing her in good stead to join the nutrition team at Simple System. After almost five years on the Feed Line, Ellen was promoted to Nutrition Manager.
At home, Ellen has three horses of her own; rescued Hackney cross, Redwings Indigo, skewbald companion pony Maisie (who also turns her hoof to showing on occasion) and Ellen’s heart horse – hunter type, Louie. Ellen enjoys a variety of equine pursuits, but her real passion is National Hunt racing. Ellen aims to visit every racecourse in the country and hopes to get into racehorse ownership in the future.
