New product finalist pitching was a new feature at this year’s BETA International, seeing 12 brands across six categories pitching live on the Seminar Theatre, sponsored by Helmet Connect, to a panel of judges.
The pitches started with the innovation category, seeing last year’s winner, Pioneer Hoof Protection, share the Pioneer Helix Check Kit, that provides horse owners with an easy to fit hoof boot with different pads to support different lower limb conditions. Next in this category was Horsepal with a Health Check Kit that provided portable equine health monitoring, with the presenter stating it costed less than an emergency call out.
Next up was Safety, a key part of the equestrian space. Freejump shared its new stirrup range, SOFT’UP, which benefited from enhanced comfort, sustainability and a customised design. Then evoke shared the new Ophelia riding helmet that contained rotational technology as standard and boasted an impressive list of certifications. In addition, the helmet was lighter than competitors.
Feed, Forage and Supplements’ first pitch was Longside Bonding Treats, a range that provided larger treats made using a blend of 60 meadow grasses that were baked at low temperatures without adding sugar. The other finalist in this category was Plus Vital with Myo-Max EQ, a scientifically formulated pelleted supplement designed to support the development of topline and lean muscle mass in horses.
Horse Care began with Fizzy Fillies from Biteback Products. These combined appealing packaging with an easy-to-use equine wash that can be added to cold or warm water to remove sweat post exercise. The last product in this category was the Rheva Combo Set, a patented wound protection plaster that, under normal conditions, should stay intact for up to seven days.
Horsewear kicked off with USG Digital Number Display, the world’s first real digital number plate for horse competitions to use by app and then finished with the Mackay Precision Grip Reins. These had thumb grips, were light and flexible and retailed at a great price point.
Riderwear started with the Equi Parent Ready to Show Garment Bag all the way from America. The bag had lots of compartments and even a mirror to help that last minute preparation. Ending the live pitches was Hannah Childs Equestrian Classica Mesh Show Coat, an established US brand. The coat has been design for performance and comfort whilst maintaining a feminine siloutte.it can also be worn over an airvest.
The winners will be announced later today.
