BETA International has announced the four businesses that have been selected to take part in the first-of-its-kind live pitching event at the show, Mustangs’ Corral, which provides the opportunity for the final four to pitch for up to £250,000 of investment.
The final four are SealStop, Cross Section Equestrian, Neightangles, and Studfast, and they will pitch in front of David Mitson (HLM Investment Group), Joanna Jensen (founder of Childs Farm and investor), and Michael Darley (Country Direct).
“We cannot wait to see the live final at BETA International 2026,” said Liz Ormesher, Event Director for BETA international. “We received some incredibly strong entries, which meant our selection panel had their work cut out. The final four show diverse ideas across the industry, big ambition, and a plan to get there. We’re looking forward to watching them in action and see if they manage to secure the investment.”
The competition will be held on the Helmet Connect Seminar Theatre at 3.45pm on Sunday 27th September 2026. The funds have been put forward by HLM Investment Group who have ringfenced the money to support small and start-up businesses in the equestrian and pet sector. In addition to financial support, mentoring, industry introductions, and more is available for the winners.
“It’s more than just the money,” said Liz. “Yes, we know the right funding makes a huge impact on any business, but that support that is being provided too is a money can’t buy opportunity. We’re very grateful to the Mustangs and, of course, the HLM Investment Group for working on this us.”
