Q: Jenni, tell us a bit about your background and how the EBSN came to life.
I’ve been involved in the equestrian world for years - managing riding centres, working with charities, mucking out stables, and everything in between. I also ran a bridal jewellery business that looked great on the outside but ended in burnout and debt. That experience taught me a lot about what it really takes to build something sustainable.

Even with years of business training, when I first went self-employed, I still procrastinated, stayed vague, and avoided being visible. The turning point came when I finally called myself out and leaned into what I really wanted to do - support equestrian business owners. Within 24 hours of launching, I had my first client.

That was the beginning of the Equestrian Business Support Network. I wanted to create a space where equine entrepreneurs could get real support, without judgment or overwhelm. Seven years later, we’ve grown to over 1,800 members in the free community, and recently launched a paid group for those looking for deeper networking and support.

Q: What does the EBSN represent in today’s equestrian landscape?
We exist to make sure no equestrian business owner feels like they have to figure it all out alone. Whether you’re a service provider, coach, or retailer, we offer strategy, tools, and mindset support to help you grow a business that works — without burning out or second-guessing every move.

One of the key ways I help clients is through my GALLOP Method, a step-by-step framework built specifically for equine businesses. It gives structure, clarity, and a sense of direction. Here’s what it stands for:

  • Get seen – Build visibility and attract the right audience
  • Aids to sell – Make it easy for people to say “yes”
  • Look after you – Because your wellbeing drives your business
  • Look after your clients – Great service keeps people coming back
  • Organise & optimise – Streamline to save time and reduce stress
  • Position & profit – Own your value and build long-term success

It’s not about shiny tactics. It’s about doing the right things in the right order, with the right support.

Q: You’re speaking at BETA International this year. What can attendees expect?
On Monday 29 September, I’m running a session called “10 easy automations to boost your business and aid retention.” It’s packed with practical ways to save time, simplify systems, and improve client loyalty… all without needing to be tech-savvy.

I’ll also be joining the “Talking business: insights from the industry” panel later that day. We’ll be discussing trends, challenges, and what’s really working in the equestrian business space right now.

Q: What are you most looking forward to at BETA International?
The energy. There’s something powerful about being in a room full of passionate, forward-thinking business owners. It sparks collaboration, new ideas, and momentum. We’ll also have our own EBSN stand, so I’m excited to meet members of the community in person.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give equestrian entrepreneurs heading into 2025?
Stop trying to build your business in isolation. Surround yourself with people who get your world and your vision. When you have the right structure, strategy, and support - like what we offer through the GALLOP Method and the EBSN - everything becomes so much more manageable. And a lot more fun too.

Q: Where can people find you during the event?
Come say hello at the Equestrian business support network stand. We’d love to chat. And you’ll find me in the Seminar theatre on Monday 29 September.
