Rydale will be joining us at the NEC 27-28 September for BETA International, and we took the opportunity to ask the team a few questions about where it all began, what’s on the stand, why retailers should stop by, and plenty more besides…
Can you tell us about the Rydale brand? When was it founded and what gap in the market were you looking to fill?
Rydale is a Yorkshire-born country clothing brand with roots dating back to 1954. We create practical, timeless clothing for countryside life, with ranges for all the family, including the dog. Our focus has always been on making authentic countrywear accessible, without losing quality, comfort, or style.
What made you decide to exhibit at BETA International this year?
BETA International is a great chance to connect with the equestrian, country, and rural retail community beyond trading emails. It gives us the opportunity to showcase our wholesale range while meeting retailers face to face and build lasting partnerships across the UK.
Can you talk us through what you’ll be showcasing at BETA International? Can you share the details of any new products or launches?
We’ll be bringing a handpicked wholesale range, including outerwear, fleeces, shirts, knitwear, accessories, and bestselling styles from across each category. We’re not launching one specific product at the event, but we’ll be showcasing strong seasonal pieces, proven customer favourites, and recent additions to our wholesale range.
Who is Rydale’s ideal customer?
Our customer is someone who lives, works, or spends time in the countryside. That includes dog walkers, equestrians, farmers, families, showgoers, and outdoor enthusiasts, as well as anyone who enjoys classic rural style.
Why should retailers come and see you at BETA International? What can they expect to see on your stand?
Retailers should visit us if they’re looking for a trusted British countrywear brand with broad customer appeal. On the stand, they can see the quality and fit first-hand, explore some of the top picks from our wholesale range, and speak directly with the Rydale team.
Rydale has grown a lot in recent years with a big expansion in product range – did you face any challenges as you were growing and scaling?
The main challenge has been growing the range while staying true to what customers already love about Rydale. As we’ve expanded, we’ve focused on keeping the products practical, well-priced, and consistent in quality.
What makes Rydale different from other country brands out there?
Rydale offers authentic country style at an accessible price point. We’re proudly Yorkshire-based, and our collections are designed around real outdoor life. The range is also broad, giving retailers options for the whole family, whether they’re walking the dog, in the field, or at the stables.
Where do you take inspiration from for your new collections?
We take inspiration from the countryside and the people who spend their lives in it – our customers. We listen closely to what they ask for, what they wear day to day, and what they actually need from their clothing. That feedback, combined with our own experiences of proper countryside life, British weather, and rural traditions, helps guide our new collections.
What are you excited about for BETA International?
We’re excited to meet retailers in person, introduce more trade customers to Rydale, and highlight how the range has developed. It’s a great opportunity to get hands-on with our gear and explore new wholesale partnerships.
