BETA International is delighted to share that a new feature, Mustangs’ Corral, will launch at this year’s event, allowing visitors to meet three entrepreneurs while brands and businesses pitch for real investment and commercial support at this year’s September show.

Founded on the back of a successful initiative earlier this year by HLM Investment Group founder David Mitson, Mustangs’ Corral provides individuals and businesses with the opportunity to tell the world about their story and ambition, with the potential to secure investment and other commercial support.

In addition to David, Joanna Jensen (Investor and Founder of Childs Farm) is also on the panel alongside Michael Darley (Director of Country Direct and International Sales Agent).

“When looking to invest in a brand or business, I look for three things,” said Joanna Jensen. “A great product or idea that has already been made and tested in the marketplace, a strong business plan, and a robust, driven, capable, ambitious founder.”

“The HLM Investment Group has up to £250,000 ring-fenced for equestrian and pet sector start-ups and early-stage businesses,” said David. “But the support isn’t just an investment opportunity; it’s also mentoring, commercial and operational support, and being able to learn from and benefit from the connections and network within the industry. It really is an incredible opportunity and one that I would encourage everyone who’s eligible to apply for.”

“We’re a smallish industry, but it’s incredibly passionate and well connected,” said Michael Darley. “If you have a genuinely good idea, listen to the trade and build the right relationships. There is a real opportunity to grow a brand both in the UK and internationally.

“That’s what excites me about Mustangs’ Corral — finding those people with a great idea and helping them turn it into a commercially successful business.”

On the day, each business or entrepreneur will receive up to 10 minutes of pitching time on the Seminar Theatre stage, followed by 10 minutes of Q&A from the panel to help explore the idea in more detail. There is no pressure to commit on the day, but BETA International and the wider team will facilitate follow-up discussions after the show if the panellists request.

“We are so excited to have Mustangs’ Corral at BETA International,” said Liz Ormesher, Event Director. “The event will take place on Sunday 27th September between 3.45pm and 5pm and is certain to be interesting for everyone, it will also give each entrepreneur pitching significant brand exposure at the show! Being able to introduce features like this, to support growth in early-stage and start-up businesses, is incredibly exciting. We are delighted to be working with the Mustangs on this opportunity by providing a stage for something that has never been done at BETA International before.”
